Our Story

Driven by a Vision to
Lift Every Child.

LACH (Lift A Child) is a non-governmental organization passionate about giving children access to quality education, creating enabling environments where every child can thrive, and eliminating period poverty through advocacy, education, and service.

How the Movement Began

It Started With a Moment We Could Not Walk Away From. LACH was not born in a boardroom. It was born from a story that stopped us cold - a young teenage girl who needed a sanitary pad and found herself facing an adult who wanted something in return for it. That moment stayed with us.

We sat with it long enough to understand what it really meant. It was not just one girl. It was every girl who had ever been in that position - who had no options, who had missed school on days she could not count, who had learned to be ashamed of something that was simply her body doing what bodies do. And then we asked the harder question: what kind of world produces that moment? A world where a girl cannot afford a pad. A world where nobody taught the boys around her to protect instead of take. A world where parents were never given the language to have that conversation at home.

"When you sponsor a child's education and protect their dignity, you don't just change their life—you change the trajectory of their entire community."

Today, LACH has grown from a small community initiative into a movement that is rewriting stories and checkmating illiteracy across the region.
